Diamond Night jacket
The motif design is inspired by glittering ice diamonds.
Legends tell us that the diamond, a crystal of light and “Stone of Invincibility” was created from all the other gems, so that it may refract all the colours of the rainbow. It is said to be a symbol of wealth and abundance, endurance and perseverance.
Many traditional fairisle knitting motifs feature a diamond – a favourite with knitters as it lends itself so well to the stranded colour work technique.
Two colours are knitted into each row, the colours alternately carried behind the work to create a soft and lightweight double-layer fabric which has excellent insulation qualities.

On dit que c’est un symbole de richesse et d’abondance, d’endurance et de persévérance.
De nombreux motifs traditionnels de Fairisle sont ornés d’un losange – un favori des tricoteurs, car il se prête si bien à la technique de travail des couleurs échouées.
Deux couleurs sont tricotées sur chaque rang, les couleurs alternativement portées derrière le travail pour créer un tissu souple et léger de double couche, donnant une bonne isolation.
